PICKERINGTON, Ohio — The American Motorcyclist Association congratulates 2018 AMA Off-Road Vintage Grand Champion Quinn Wentzel and 2018 AMA Off-Road Senior Vintage Grand Champion Steve Harouff.

The awards are part of the off-road competition program at 2018 AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days, featuring Royal Enfield, which took place July 6-8 at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, Ohio.

The AMA Off-Road Vintage Grand Champion is the rider with the highest cumulative point total in designated expert-level competition classes in hare scrambles, motocross, and trials competition during the event. The AMA Off-Road Senior Vintage Grand Champion is the rider aged 40 or older with the highest cumulative point total in designated expert-level senior (40+/50+) classes.

"Quinn Wentzel and Steve Harouff are talented riders and tough competitors who persevered through three days of grueling off-road motorcycle competition to win their respective championships," said AMA Director of Racing Kevin Crowther. "With the continued growth of this event and the great weather that we had this year, we saw some of the toughest competition ever," Crowther said. "They are worthy champions, and we look forward to seeing them back next year to defend their titles at 2019 AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days."

Canfield, Ohio, resident Wentzel has won the AMA Off-Road Vintage Grand Champion title four of the past six years.

"All of these championships are special to me," Wentzel said. "The competition here is really tough. I think, once again, my trials skills prevailed and helped me wrap this thing up. I owe all of my championships to my trials background."

Harouff, of Morgantown, W.Va., is a first-time AMA Off-Road Senior Vintage Grand Champion.

"Last year was my first year trying to win this award, and this year I got the job done," he said. "This has been a goal of mine since last year and I have been working toward it since then. I want to dedicate this win to my late friend Hank Judy, who was supposed to be here with me this weekend."
