The following is an industry press release...

Americade Parade and Fort William Henry Special Events Benefit Veterans

Lake George, NY: On Saturday, June 7th of Americade Week, a special tribute to veterans will take place during the Americade Parade.

The Dunlop Parade will benefit the Building For America’s Bravest Foundation, an organization building specially adapted homes for catastrophically injured vets. Building For America’s Bravest is currently building a home for a NYbased vet, and all spectators are invited to donate to this cause at the Americade Info booth at the corner of Beach Road and Canada Street, Lake George, NY.

Also in the parade and benefiting from proceeds will be the Wounded Warrior Project, the Marine Corps League, and Operation AdoptASoldier.

In honor of the 70th anniversary of DDay, WWII Vets will be seated alongside the parade route, with the Dunlop Parade participants paying tribute to the vets as they pass by. Later, the WWII vets and veterans who served in during more recent conflicts, as well as those in current military service, are invited to add their names to the wall at the Fort William Henry museum. This wall will become part of a new exhibit honoring all those that served.

“We’re very excited that we can create an event helping to build specialized homes for our disabled vets,” said Christian Dutcher. “It’s a wonderful cause, and I hope this the beginning of a long tradition at Americade.”

“We are so pleased to work with Americade to honor our nation’s veterans,” said Kathryn Muncil, Fort William Henry’s CEO. “We wholeheartly honor and celebrate our American Soldiers and their families who, over the past 259 years since Fort William Henry was built, continue to protect that which defines this nation, the freedoms and inalienable rights that do not exist anywhere else in the world. Fort William Henry is honored to create an exhibit that will go forth for many generations to remind all of us of the great sacrifices made by those that defend our freedoms and our land.”
