AMA East Hare Scrambles Championship heads to Elko, Ga.

February 10, 2012

The following is an industry press release...

The AMA East Hare Scrambles Championship Series moves into Elko, Ga., for round 2. The Feb. 26 High Point Harescramble is part of the SETRA series and promises to be a great time in the South Georgia woods.

The track crew has been working overtime to deliver a truly challenging National level track, around 17 miles in length and 70 percent new trail. Make sure to thank the guys for all this effort when you see them.

This also being an early season event, it provides a great opportunity for the factory guys to come out and test their rides. The lucky fans that traveled to round one in Sumter were treated to a full pro row and some serious race action. The second round in Elko should see a similar turnout. Elko also has soil like the General GNCC, which goes down a few weeks later.

For the Northern racers, it also provides an opportunity to race on something a little less slippery than ice and snow, while enjoying a little southern hospitality.

This race will include all AMA National youth and adult bike classes along with SETRA’s classes. The gate fee will be only $10 with 12 and under are free. There will be a $45 entry fee to race and an $800+ cash purse for the pros. Food and free primitive camping will be available at the site, and there are plenty of hotels in Perry, Ga., a short distance away.

This event is easily accessible, as it is right off I75 at Perry, Ga., exit 134.

Races begin at 12:00 p.m. For more details contact Steve Johnson at (478) 361-7093 (email: johnsonoffroad@gmail.com) or Trey Singleton at (478) 952-9619.
