U.S. Judge Rejects Riders Challenge to Nevada Travel Plan
January 08, 2014
U.S. District Judge John Mendez in Nevada upheld regulations limiting off-highway vehicle use in the 800,000-acre Tahoe National Forest.
Mendez late last year denied a challenge brought by off-highway vehicle recreationists against the travel management plan for the Tahoe National Forest.
The Pacific Legal Foundation filed a lawsuit against the travel management plan in July 2012. The foundation alleged that the plan improperly closed more than 800 miles of roads and trails enjoyed by the public for decades.
