AMA is pleased to announce the 2010 AMA Congress Election and Call for Nominations. This year, the official elections for all AMA Congress Delegates, in all AMA Districts, will be conducted entirely online using the web-based services of VoteNet Solutions. The election will begin Dec. 1, 2009, and conclude Dec. 31, 2009.
AMA encourages all clubs and promoters to attend the annual meeting (if scheduled) of their local AMA Recognized District Organization (AMA RDO). These meetings provide a great opportunity to meet with other AMA organizers, AMA Congress Delegates (and Delegate Candidates), and to learn more about the activities of your local AMA RDO. However, AMA Congress Delegate elections will no longer be conducted at the annual meetings of AMA Recognized District Organizations.
AMA Chartered Promoting Clubs and Promoters in good standing and granted such 2009 AMA Charter no later than Oct. 1, 2009, are eligible to vote in the 2010 AMA Congress Election. A letter will be mailed in mid-November to the contact person for each club and promoter providing a link to the AMA/VoteNet election website, as well as a unique user name and password to be used by that club or promoter to access and vote on the ballots specific to their AMA District election.
Incumbent AMA Congress Delegates with expiring terms will automatically be included on the ballots. Nominations for other candidates will be accepted through Nov. 13, 2009. Additionally, the AMA/VoteNet election website will support "write-in" candidate voting.
