Thank you for your continued support of the American Motorcyclist Association and for hosting AMA-sanctioned events, the "gold-standard" in motorcycling.
Recently, we informed you the Association would no longer use or issue data card slips, or "onion skins," as we have in the past. These data card slips served for many seasons as a "secondary waiver" and also as a record of participation. Over the years, however, changes in many local, state and even federal laws have made the waiver verbiage on the data card obsolete, and for the sake of economy, the AMA intended to discontinue their use.
We did not take into account how valuable the data card slips were for speeding up registration, and as proof to riders of their participation in your events. Well, you reminded us, and we listened.
We are therefore pleased to announce that the data cards are once again available from the AMA for our valued AMA Organizers. You may once again request data card slips on the supply order form found in the Resources & Forms section of our Organizer Services section of our website. Because data card slips are optional forms, there will be a small charge of $20.00 per box of 400, which will include shipping and handling.
Remember, data card slips will no longer serve as any sort of waiver of liability, but they may be used as a registration tool for your use only. Please do not send copies to the AMA with your post-event paperwork. The Association will still require Adult and Minor release forms (available at no cost to you) to be used at AMA-sanctioned events, even if you use an alternate insurance provider. Be sure to order in plenty of time before your event.
If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to contact AMA Organizer Services. We are here to serve you, weekdays from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm (eastern time) at (800) AMA-JOIN.
