Dear AMA Promoting Organizer,
For those of you who have not already heard, Mary Hurley will retire from the Association after 29 years later this fall to spend more time with family and friends. Mary has done so much for the AMA during her career here, and is loved and respected by both the AMA staff and the promoters, clubs and districts she deals with on a regular basis. Luckily for us, Mary has agreed to stay on here until November 3, helping to train her replacement and ensure a smooth transition.
I'm happy to announce that her future replacement comes from in-house, and is also an individual who has contributed a good deal to the Association during her nearly 20 years of service. Cherie Schlatter has held a number of positions here, ranging from Club Coordinator to Insurance Processor to Sanction Coordinator. In more recent times, she's served as a Congress Clerk, the Off Road Coordinator, and the Administrative Assistant to the Vice President of Racing.
Cherie will be titled "Sanction and Insurance Manager." She will officially begin her duties on August 10 and will work closely with Mary to make the transition as seamless as possible.
Have a safe and enjoyable summer.
Vice President of Racing Adminstration
