In past years additional insureds were listed on your certificate addendum just as you had noted on your sanction applications. We are making a few minor changes to your certificate addendum in an effort to improve efficiencies and simplify the process, which will result in a more timely delivery of your certificates. The addendum attached to all certificates will now provide a listing of all additional insureds that are automatically insured under the policy. In most cases, those requesting to be added as additional insured, will already fit within the categories of:
As a result of the new addendum, it is no longer necessary to list each individual, corporation, or any employees or directors of that corporation, partnerships, or individual partners or trusts as long as they fall within one of the above categories. Therefore, the certificate we have issued for your event reflects that change. As you will note, the categories above are quite extensive and again should include the majority of those that have requested to be listed as additional insureds. You may on occasion receive a request that does not appear to fit within the above categories, or the request may be from a State, City, or Local governmental agency that insists on being specifically listed. In these situations, or should you have any questions, please contact the AMA Insurance Department for further assistance. Remember that vendors/concessionaires, and other independent contractors should provide their own insurance for your benefit and should not be added as an additional insured.
Thank you for your cooperation and support in this important matter.
