Load up the family and head to Red River Motorcycle Park in Bulcher, Texas, which offers 2,700 acres of off-road fun.
Red River was established 1972 and has come to be known by many different names. Bulcher and Muenster are two of the names you'll hear.
It would be difficult and very time consuming to map all the trails here. Let’s just put it this way, you won’t get bored on 2,700 acres.
The terrain varies from thick trees with flowing sandy trails to hill climbs. Most of the climbs are sand but there are some huge rocky climbs that are on the extreme side.
Sandy river bottoms present a real treat or challenge, depending on how you want to attack them. Large, sandy play areas are a favorite of many.
Red River is a great family recreation area to start out new or young riders. If you want to take a break from riding, try fishing, swimming or just lounging in the river.
Red River is open most weekends. Weekday riding is by appointment only. Admission is only $10 a person, per day. If you plan a birthday party here and have proof of the birthday, you ride free.
There six electrical hookups on a first-come, first-served basis for only $10 per day. There is no water available on site, so plan accordingly. Portable toilets are available.
The large, covered pavilion is great for groups and can be reserved in advance for only $25 per day.
Camping is available in one of the two designated areas but not along the Red River.
Motorcycles, ATVs, and utility vehicles are welcome on the trails, but no jeeps or buggies.
Like most areas, there are some very good, common-sense rules: helmets and protective gear is required, no drinking and riding, stay on trails, don’t ride in fields and pastures, etc.
There's no admittance after 4 p.m., and you must sign a liability release for each day you ride.
The closest food, water, gas and lodging is 10-15 miles away in Saint Jo or Munster.
Red River is on the Texas-Oklahoma border, only 90 miles north of Dallas and 155 miles south of Wichita, Kansas.
There are competitive events scheduled throughout the year. Please check the schedule before planning your trip, or call before you haul.
