SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — Despite a nasty crash during his first main event race, Trent T. Lowe rode his Honda to two wins on the day, as the 2018 AMA Flat Track Grand Championship moved to TT competition Friday at the Illinois State Fairgrounds.

Lowe's rival, Dallas Daniels capitalized on Lowe's mistake in the first main, taking the win in that race, then adding another win to equal Lowe's total on the TT circuit.

The four-day event pits the best amateur flat track racers against one another on three types of flat track racing to determine who will take home AMA National No. 1 plates.

Due to Wednesday's scheduled racing on the fairgrounds' half-mile track being postponed to Thursday, riders competed on both the TT track and short track Friday. Both tracks are inside the fairgrounds' Multi-Purpose Arena.

The day's hot and sunny conditions did not appear to slow down the event's top performers.

Australian Tom Drane continued to perform well today. Drane captured three wins on the day, matching his win total from yesterday's half mile racing.

While Drane, Lowe, and Daniels continued to put in strong performances, the TT circuit produced 13 different winners over the course of the TT program's 19 races.

This evening the racing will move back to the short track for the championships final program.
