LEXINGTON, Ohio — AMA Charter Life Member Daryl Roscoe of Waynesville, Ohio, was selected Sunday as the winner of a 2019 Honda Monkey motorcycle in an AMA sweepstakes during 2019 Honda AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days presented by Avon Tyres.
AMA Motorcycle Hall of Famer and event Co-Grand Marshal Scott Summers drew Roscoe's name from the drum of entries at the Main Stage in Old Bike Barn Crossroads at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course.
Contacted by phone after the drawing, Roscoe said he was "extremely excited" about the bike.

"I never get to win anything," he said. "We're over here racing motocross, and my son just crashed. He's OK, but it has been a tough day.
"He is 17, and this will give him something to ride around at the track."
Jon Seidel, powersports communications officer for American Honda Motor Co., said the Monkey is a "fun little motorcycle."
"These small, fun, inexpensive motorcycles will help bring more people into motorcycling," Seidel said. "We need new riders, young riders and the millennials. These models are attractive to them."
The 2019 Honda Monkey Sweepstakes was open to anyone who signed up during 2019 Honda AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days. Those joining the AMA renewing a membership during the event received bonus entries.
