April 08, 2013

The following is an industry press release...

After a quick trip in the past with the Six Days Centenary Revival, represented at Motodays in Rome last March, FMI doesn't stop his activity to celebrate the Six Days centenary edition. Past and present have been tied in an hystorical venue for the Italian enduro: Camerino.

In 1974, the 49th edition of the Moto Olimpycs took place in Camerino, and this was the place choosen for the first awards ceremony of the Italian Hall of Fame, during the opening race of Assoluti d'Italia. FMI has decided to introduce in the Hall of Fame all the personalities that has been given their contribution to all the italian victories in the Six days.

There will be ten price winning, two in every race of Assoluti d'Italia, five riders choosen for their success with the "Red Helmets", and five relevant personalities in the Six Days world.

Starting from the riders, the first entering in the Italian Hall of Fame was Fabio Farioli. Six Days World Champion in the 1992, 1994, 1997 and 2000, Enduro World Champion in 1993, the rider from Bergamo, now Team Manager of KTM Enduro Factory Racing Team, has received the picture dedicated to him.

Fabio Farioli: "It was a great surprise, i didn't expected it. It's amazing looking at me so young when i ride for the National colours. We have won a lot in those years and I'm sure in Sardinia our riders will be at the high of the "Red Helmets" legend."

After that, the second price went to Angelo Chitò, member of FMI Enduro Commitee and one of the manager of ISDE 2013 organisation, who will reach the point of 30 Six Days in Sardinia.

Angelo Chitò: "I've started many years ago with the timing, experience that i brought with me in the National staff. In the past years there were no transponder and Italy was the one to got real timing, both team and individually, so we had the chance to get the best race strategy. In Sardinia will be my 30th Six Days, but i would prefer to give as gift an unforgettable event to all the fans instead of receiving one."
