Jeff Hogan: 2012 AMA Vintage Dirt Track Hot Rod Multi champion
February 06, 2013
Jeff Hogan of Pipersville, Pa., proved that he knows the fast way around an oval track by earning the national champion title in the Hot Rod Multi class of the 2012 AMA Vintage National Dirt Track Series.
But winning the title wasn't easy. The 49-year-old racer notes he faces stiff competition from Fumi Matsueda, Hugh Mackie and David Atherton.
Hogan started dirt-track racing in the 1970s but took a hiatus before rejoining the fray in 2010.
Hogan says he enjoys racing in the AMA Vintage National Dirt Track Series because the classes are clearly defined, and there is equality on the track.
What are his racing plans for 2013?
"It's too soon to call, but definitely some Nationals," he says.
When he's not racing, Hogan composes background music for television.
Hogan says he would like to thank Sixth Street Racing in New York City, DB Racing in Connecticut and FTWCO in Iowa for supporting his racing efforts.
"I'd like to thank the AMA, the promoters, my sponsors and my fellow racers and the fans," Hogan says. "It takes everyone to make it happen."
