Nick Howarth: ATV hare scrambles 15-20 B national champ
January 31, 2013
Nick Howarth is a 17-year-old ATV racer who lives in Cortland, N.Y., and has been racing for five years. In 2012, Howarth captured the 15-20 B national title in the AMA ATV Hare Scrambles National Championship Series.
His toughest competition was A.J. Conners. Howarth competed on a Suzuki LTR 450, which he called "an awesome-performing quad!"
Why does he race hare scrambles?
"I like the length and the challenge of the woods with the many different types of obstacles. It is challenging and fun," he says.
He plans to continue racing the AMA ATV Hare Scrambles National Championship Series "as long as I can. It is fun and enjoyable."
In his free time, Howarth enjoys mountain bike riding, training at the gym or biking, riding and hanging out with friends.
For his success during the 2012 season, Howarth wants to thank "my dad and mom, my family and friends, the Wolfe family and Dale Slocum. Also my sponsors: FTR Graphics and East Coast ATV."
