Federal safety panel holding summit on ATVs

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has scheduled an ATV Safety Summit for Oct. 11-12 in Bethesda, Md. The agency will accept written comments until Nov. 14.
The topics for the summit focus on the theme: “Keeping Families Safe on ATVs.” Topics to be addressed include: vehicle lighting, speeds and transmission for youth ATVs, physical sizing of ATVs, point-of-purchase information and on-product warning labels and hang tags.
Also, ATV training; public awareness, information, and education; and vehicle technology innovations including anything from the proof-of concept stage or current in-use on ATVs to advances in the area of lateral stability and rollover protection.
Written comments must be received by Nov. 14. All comments must include the name of the agency plus Docket No. CPSC–2012–0048. Choose one of the following methods for written submission:
