AMA/Yamaha Adventure Ride Series
Adventure riding is one of the fastest growing classes of motorcycling for good reason. Adventure bikes, such as the Yamaha Super Ténéré, are some of the most versatile and capable motorcycles you can buy. They are comfortable enough to conquer hundreds of miles of interstate without a whimper, and they are rugged enough to climb the highest mountain passes. The AMA Yamaha Super Ténéré National Adventure Riding Series offers the best routes, roads and two-track trail for showcasing the abilities of adventure bikes like these.
Not only do these two-day events include ample, challenging rides that are well marked and thoughtfully designed by local clubs, but they are built around a full weekend of activities that typically includes bon fires, camping, food and prizes.
AMA/Husqvarna Dual Sport Series
If you like riding your motorcycle off-road, then you’ve landed on the right page. The AMA Husqvarna National Dual Sport Trail Riding Series includes some of the most amazing singletrack trail in the country, all tied together by incredible backroads through America’s countryside. Designed to provide the perfect off-road riding experience, these two-day events include ample, challenging routes that are well marked and well-designed.
This series is intended for serious off-road-oriented dual-sport motorcycles. For larger dual-sport bikes, such as the GS line from BMW, consider events in the AMA National Adventure Riding Series.
AMA Premier Touring Series
It’s a big country out there, and there’s no better way to see it than from the seat of a motorcycle.

These are the gatherings that stand out, whether you’re looking to experience the country’s most iconic large rallies or just hang out with local riders in smaller events. Here’s a look at some of the cool events the AMA has to offer. More activities are always being added, and you can always find a complete and up-to-date list of all AMA-sanctioned events in our online events database. You’ll also find great rides in the “Go Ride” section of your monthly American Motorcyclist magazine.

If you prefer the wide-open space of the open road to the group setting of a rally, then the AMA Grand Tours with KOA Along the Way offer up a comfortable alternative. You ride at your own pace and take pictures of yourself at key towns and locations set by organizers. Oh yeah, did we mention that there are also plenty of prizes?
Smaller and often more rewarding than some larger gatherings, district rallies and tours are great places to meet other riders from
your area. Find these by searching our online database of rides and rallies. And during the colder months, the AMA encourages its members to visit the International Motorcycle Show in their area.
AMA Grand Tours
AMA Grand Tours with KOA Along the Way allow riders to participate at their own pace and on their own schedules and generally are open for several months to a year. Typically, riders are asked to visit a designated number of checkpoints (sometimes set in advance, other times discretionary) and document their visits.
Grand Tours are a great way to get to know more about your state and country, and an excellent excuse to go riding. For 2011, AMA Grand Tours with KOA Along the Way includes a special adventure overseen by the entire AMA staff.
Get ready for the road adventure of a lifetime. Riders may select one, two, three or all four different adventures created by AMA staff and AMA partner clubs. Those who complete all four 2011 AMA Grand Tours will receive a “2011 Master Grand Tourer” certificate from AMA Road Riding.
