Ryan Hunt (right in the photograph) took first place this weekend in the '70s GP500 road race competition. And his friend Scott MacKenzie finished second.
Those results leave the pair tied 3-3 in the last six races during AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, Ohio.
Hunt, of Kenosha, Wis., will travel to Canada in August to continue the friendly fight. MacKenzie hails from Niagra Falls, Ontario, Canada.
“It’s like we have our own personal Can-Am [championship],” MacKenzie said. “Next year, one of us will own the bragging rights again.”
Hunt and MacKenzie were two of 38 road racers receiving awards during the Sunday afternoon ceremonies.
And among the other winners: Hunt’s wife, Evy, who took third place in the GP125 class.
