PICKERINGTON, Ohio — Racers planning to compete at 2019 Honda AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days presented by Avon Tyres have only until July 1 to complete the pre-event registration process and receive $10 off registration for hare scrambles, motocross, flat track and observed trials competition.
AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days features vintage and post-vintage racing July 5-7 at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, Ohio. The flat track competition takes place July 6 at the Ashland County Fairgrounds in Ashland, Ohio, and is a round of the AMA Vintage Flat Track National Championship Series.
Racers have only until July 1 to save on registering to compete at 2019 Honda AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days presented by Avon Tyres.
The road racing at AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days is organized by WERA Roadracing Inc.
Competitors may register by July 1 and receive the discount by visiting the racing section of the AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days website and selecting the racing discipline(s) they wish to enter: www.amavintagemotorcycledays.com/page/vintage-racing-2019.
Registration also will be available at the track for $10 more.
Pre-event registration is available for Biltwell Pit Bike Racing, but it is not eligible for the discount. For the Biltwell Holeshot Challenge, no online pre-event registration is available. Riders must register in person from 5-7 p.m. July 6.
Honda AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days presented by Avon Tyres will not only celebrate the 50th anniversary of Honda's legendary 1969 CB750, but also the 40th anniversary of the six-cylinder CBX and the 60th anniversary of American Honda Motor Co. Inc.
Three-time AMA Grand National Champion and AMA Superbike Champion Bubba Shobert and nine-time AMA national off-road champion Scott Summers will be co-grand marshals of the event. Both are longtime Honda riders and among the winningest racers in professional motorcycle competition.
Honda AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days presented by Avon Tyres, welcomes riders and racers of all brands to Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. All activity at the event financially supports the American Motorcycle Heritage Foundation, the 501(c)(3) nonprofit that raises money for the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame.
Vendors from all areas of motorcycling will be present, selling gear and services for motorcycles old and new. Vendors include vintage and modern gear sellers, parts and tools dealers, community garages and much more.
In addition, the Biltwell Off-Road Poker Run will also be held.
Motorcycling experts will speak on numerous topics, including motorcycle restoration and travel. Speakers this year include three AMA Motorcycle Hall of Famers -- Scot Harden, Mary McGee and Peter Starr. And AMA staff members will conduct a panel discussion on important legislation affecting riders.
Tickets are available for purchase online at www.midohio.com/tickets/1/vintage-motorcycle-days-ama or at the gate during the event. A weekend pass is $60, a single-day admission for Friday or Saturday is $40 and a single-day admission for Sunday is $35. Kids 12 and younger get in free.
