The following is an industry press release ...
Lake George, NY; June 2017: Organizers of Americade announced that the legendary southern rock band Molly Hatchet will headline its Concert Series on Saturday, June 10, under the stars at the Charles R Wood Park in the heart of Lake George Village.
The festival-style experience, branded this year with a “Bikes, Beer & BBQ” theme, is open to the general public and will also feature the one-and-only Commander Cody of Hot Rod Lincoln fame and the emerging country-rock stars The Mallet Brothers Band; listed as a “can't miss prospect” by several music critics.
Molly Hatchet emerged from northern Florida alongside the neighboring Lynyrd Skyrnrd to the forefront of southern rock's second phase. Its hard-charging rocking blues style immediately caught on, with each of its first three albums going platinum. The single Flirting With Disaster from the same-titled second release, became a mega hit and continues to air on classic rock stations around the globe. Thirteen albums and thousands of live shows later, Molly Hatchet continues to excite audiences at large events from coast to coast.
Commander Cody came onto the scene at the same time such touring partners as Grateful Dead and the Eagles were bringing a retro, country meets rock & roll movement to American music. The Commander and his quirky backing band the Lost Planet Airmen added the wildcards of texas swing and barroom boogie to the equation and became one of the most popular national acts of the mid-70's. Its live album is ranked by Rolling Stone magazine as part of the Top 100 in history.
The term Classic Rock could not be a better fit than here.
The Maine-based Mallett Brothers Band are the proverbial “catch them now while you can” proposition, given its fast rising status on the east coast circuit as well as the extensive airplay being given to its The Falling of the Pine release; a unique selection of 19th century folk songs from the Nutmeg State. When these intense ballads are combined with the Mallett's hard charging electric delivery of outlaw country rock, the Lake George attendees will have seen future stars at their creative peak.
This year's Americade Concert Series represents the third rendition of this big-stage production, which was developed as an added attraction for rally attendees as well as a chance for the non-riding local public to get in on some fun. Past headliners Aaron Lewis and Craig Morgan drew large crowds to the blossoming Wood Park, which opened in 2014 on the site of the former Gaslight Village theme park. This year's lineup and added food and beverage attractions project to be the largest yet.
New to the festivities this year as a producing partner is Saratoga-based 398Group, owners of the popular American Music Festival for the Lake, which takes place at the same venue each September and whose past editions (featuring Blue Oyster Cult, Sawyer Fredericks and Robert Randolph) hold the mark for the top three attendance results.
Admission tickets are On Sale now on Ticketfly: http://www.ticketfly.com/event/1429862 Advance and discounted General Admission is $25 for the general public, with a further $5 discount to those purchasing a pass to the weeklong rally.
