Three-year AMA member Colin Huff of Langhorne, Pa., says it’s his seventh year attending AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days, but his first time aboard a KTM 1290 Super Duke R.
“I’ve been a fan of KTM for a while and test rode a KTM RC390 last year here,” Huff said. “I follow Motorcyclist magazine and this bike [KTM 1290 Super Duke R] got great reviews. So, I really wanted to ride this thing.”
He says the bike lived up to his expectations.
“It’s an amazing motorcycle,” Huff says. “Surprisingly light for how big the motor is.”
Although Huff currently owns a 2016 Triumph Street Triple R, he says, “KTM is always on the list.”
Huff’s friend, Don Gravatt, also of Langhorne, Pa., rode to AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days with him. Gravatt has been coming to the event for five years.
“I have a Suzuki V-Strom and a Yamaha TW200, but I want to buy a third bike,” Gravatt says. “I have room for one more in the shed.”
He test rode the KTM 690 Enduro and hopes to try the KTM 390 Duke soon.
Demo rides by KTM and Janus Motorcycles are available during select times throughout the weekend for attendees.
