Milan Lavender doesn’t want to rise above “monkey” status.
The Cincinnati resident was at AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days on Saturday for the road racing program of the AMA Vintage Grand Championship. She was riding a sidecar as co-pilot for her father, Dale.
The duo were racing a 1972 BMW R75 owned by Bill Fuller of Milford, N.H. Fuller is the full-time co-pilot for Dale’s races.
Fuller said he brings his sidecar to AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days “because this is the best track in the country.”

“This is a father-daughter thing for me,” Milan said. “I have ridden motorcycles since I was little. And I have been racing for four years.
“I like the adrenaline rushes,” she explained. “And you meet some great people at events like this. But, for me, it is about partnership and teamwork with my dad. I’m not interested in individual racing.”
