LEXINGTON, Ohio — The 2017 Ashland Dinner ride at AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days, featuring Riders of Kawasaki, drew more than 20 motorcyclists, who enjoyed a leisurely ride on a scenic back route to the Ashland County Fairgrounds on Saturday evening.
Mike and Katie Meyers are ready for the Ashland Dinner Ride.
Participants, who donated $35 each to the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame, received a special dinner at the fairgrounds track, then settled in for the AMA vintage dirt-track races.
Mike and Katie Meyers were excited to get started.
“I love any and all kinds of motorcycle racing,” Katie said. “It’s better than any other sport in the world!”
Katie rode her 2005 Honda CBR600 alongside her husband, Mike, on his 2004 Suzuki Beluga.
This was their first time being a part of the dinner ride.
“We came last year for the first time, but only came for a day,” Mike said. “But, after that, we knew we’d have to come back this year and do all the fun things like the Dinner Ride.”
The two said they were looking forward to the curvy back roads and the scenery while riding to the track.
“We love anything and everything motorcycles,” Katie said. “So getting to ride our motorcycles to a motorcycle race is like the best of both worlds.”
