Workshops on motorcycles, gear and riding for the new rider
PICKERINGTON, Ohio -- The American Motorcyclist Association will host Ladies' Day at the AMA: Workshops on Motorcycles, Gear and Riding for the New Rider on Saturday, May 9, at the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame campus in Pickerington, Ohio.
Supported by local partners and motorcycle dealers, the free event will feature several presenters who will answer attendees' questions about how to get started in motorcycling, motorcycle types, how to choose the right gear and information on safety training.
"Sometimes it can be daunting for a new rider, especially a woman, to figure out how to get started in motorcycling," said AMA Board of Directors Chair Maggie McNally-Bradshaw. "Our goal is to provide women and young girls with the basics in a non-intimidating environment at this event."
Workshops begin at 11 a.m. with the types of motorcycles on the market, then at noon a presentation will be made on various training options available to learn how to ride and become a better rider. At 1 p.m., the basic mechanics of a motorcycle will be presented, and, at 2 p.m., a presenter will discuss the types of riding gear available. Following that, at 3 p.m., there will be an open Q&A session.
The event will offer the opportunity to try on gear and view street bikes/dirt bikes brought by local motorcycle dealers. Attendees can also speak with dealers and industry experts to get their riding questions answered. Also, attendees will have the chance to view demonstrations of exercises performed in rider training courses
Bring the whole family! Tour the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame Museum for free from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Skyward Grille will be on-site for attendees to grab a bite to eat and every workshop attendee will get a free goody bag.
