The following is an industry press release...
Members of a newly created Suzuki all youth off-road race team were invited to the Joe Gibbs Racing/Suzuki rig for a meet and greet with the JGR supercross team.
Suzuki Amateur Racing Coordinator, Chris Wheeler, recently became aware of Team Perfect Storm through social media and had invited them to visit the JGR team after following the teams impressive race results this season.
Team Perfect Storm was able to tour the Factory Suzuki racing semi and meet with JGR team racers Jake Weimer, Kyle Cunningham and Justin "Bam Bam" Barcia. This was such a thrill for these up and coming racers as they were treated to an opportunity that many young racers only dream about.
When Team Perfect Storm arrived they were met by JGR Team Manager Jeremy Albrecht and were given a red carpet treatment. I was in awe at how these kids gravitated to Jeremy and gave him 100% of their attention. They hung on his every word and followed him as explained the team's operation.
Early that same morning, the five members of Team Perfect Storm had competed in a 90-minute Hare Scramble race - just two hours before meeting the JGR team, and were still attentive, respectful and most of all excited to be apart of this once in a lifetime experience.
After the factory rig tour, Team Perfect Storm members were introduced to Cunningham, Weimer and Barcia, and were each provided their autographed posters and hats after sharing some conversation with the supercross stars. In return, the Joe Gibbs Race Team graciously accepted Team Perfect Storms' autographed poster.
This experience was such a thrill for these young racers and hopefully something they will hang on to and look back on throughout their own racing careers, as the JGR/Suzuki team is made up of phenomenal athletes and crew.
TPS has been competing in AMA East HS's, Full Gas Sprint Enduro's, ECEA HS's, AMA-D6 HS's and local District Moto X events so far this year. The team uses Suzuki RM85's out of Bromley's Cycle of Trevose, Pa.
