The AMA Regional Championships crown regional motocross champions in eight regions of the United States. Riders advance to the regional championships from a number of area qualifiers around the country. The best riders from each region are invited to compete at the AMA National in Hurricane Mills.
The AMA and its promoting partner, MX Sports, invest significant time and resources in selecting the country's top amateur tracks to host area qualifiers and regional championships.
"Developing the Area Qualifier and Regional Championship schedule is perhaps the most important part of the Rocky Mountain ATV/MC AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship process," said Director of MX Sports Tim Cotter. "This is the schedule that sets the tone for the coming year, and we believe that 2015 has a great lineup of facilities and organizers for our athletes and families. Let the journey begin on a new year of racing."
The AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship includes classes for riders from 4 years old to 50-plus on a range of motorcycles, including 50cc minibikes to state-of-the-art, highly modified 450cc motocross machines.
The AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship, produced by MX Sports, is the premier amateur motocross event in the country. Nearly every professional racer competing in the Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship earned his or her way to the pro ranks through the AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship at the Loretta Lynn Ranch.
