PICKERINGTON, Ohio — The Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, one of the largest and best known motorcycle rallies in the country, kicks off Aug. 2, featuring eight road rides and an adventure ride sanctioned by the American Motorcyclist Association.

The event, which continues through Aug. 11 in and around Sturgis, S.D., is the eighth and final stop on the 2019 AMA National Gypsy Tour. AMA members can pick up their National Gypsy Tour pin at Sturgis Rally Headquarters.
AMA Recreational Riding Manager Heather Wilson said the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally is an event every motorcyclist should experience at least once.
"This iconic event brings together a diverse cross section of the motorcycling community, from hardcore riders to weekend warriors to track racers to hillclimbers," said Wilson, who will be attending the event. "With the beautiful Black Hills, the Badlands and other scenic sites, coupled with the wide array of entertainment, this rally truly offers something for everyone."
The Sturgis Motorcycle Rally features 250 concerts in 10 days, an Aug. 3 showing of the classic 1960s movie "Easy Rider," moustache and tattoo contests, vendors, the Legendary Sturgis 5K fun run for a local charity and much more.
