Dubya USA named ’Official Wheels of AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days’

July event features three days of all things vintage motorcycle

AMA Press Release

PICKERINGTON, Ohio — The American Motorcyclist Association is proud to announce Dubya USA as the "Official Wheels of AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days."

Dubya USA supplies motorcycle wheels for everything from weekend trail riding to professional Supercross racing.

"Dubya is known for its high-quality products and excellent customer service," said AMA Chief Operations Officer Jeff Massey. "We are happy to have them join the celebration of vintage motorcycles at 2019 Honda AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days presented by Avon Tyres."

Dubya USA was founded by John and Kristin Anderson in 2008. In 2011, the company became the exclusive U.S. importer of Talon Hubs. Now, Dubya builds wheel sets using the components from Talon, Excel, D.I.D., Kite, Galfer, Motostuff and more.

"We are excited to partner with the AMA and to be named 'Official Wheels of AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days' in 2019," Dubya USA co-owner John Anderson said. "We have seen the market for vintage wheels and wheel restoration growing over the past several years, and we are excited for riders, bike builders and motorcycle enthusiasts to learn more about us and our wheel restoration services and offerings.

"This event is very personal for us, as well. It was one of my wife's dad's favorite events every year," Anderson said of AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days. His wife, Kristin Anderson, is the daughter of AMA Motorcycle Hall of Famer Tom White, who passed away in 2017. White donated hundreds of volunteer hours over the years at AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days.

Dubya also offers custom wheel building, individual wheel components and wheel restoration. The company works with a wide range of professional off-road athletes in everything from Supercross to Supermoto. The company also has expanded its offerings to include adventure motorcycle wheel sets and components, as well as vintage wheel-building services.

Honda AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days presented by Avon Tyres will not only celebrate the 50th anniversary of Honda's legendary 1969 CB750, but also the 40th anniversary of the six-cylinder CBX and the 60th anniversary of American Honda Motor Co. Inc.

Three-time AMA Grand National Champion and AMA Superbike Champion Bubba Shobert will be grand marshal of the event. Shobert is a longtime factory Honda rider and one of the winningest racers in professional motorcycle competition.

Honda AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days presented by Avon Tyres, welcomes riders and racers of all brands to Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. All activity at the event financially supports the American Motorcycle Heritage Foundation, the 501(c)(3) nonprofit that raises money for the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame.

The event will include vintage competition in road racing, motocross, hare scrambles and trials at Mid-Ohio and flat track racing at the nearby Ashland County Fairgrounds. Riders in these disciplines are racing for national championships or national championship series points. In addition, the Biltwell Pit Bike Races, the Biltwell Holeshot Challenge and the Biltwell Off-Road Poker Run will also be held.

Vendors from all areas of motorcycling will be present, selling gear and services for motorcycles old and new. Vendors include vintage and modern gear sellers, parts and tools dealers, community garages and much more.

Motorcycling experts will speak on numerous topics, including motorcycle restoration and travel. Speakers this year include three AMA Motorcycle Hall of Famers — Scot Harden, Mary McGee and Peter Starr. And AMA staff members will conduct a panel discussion on important legislation affecting riders.
