Workshops for AMA Organizers

The AMA is offering all organizers the opportunity to attend workshops related to recreational riding and racing at the Columbus Convention Center on Thursday, Sept. 21, in Columbus, Ohio. These workshops will be held in conjunction with AMA Congress and AIMExpo. 

The following workshops are FREE to AMA organizers. 

If you would like to attend the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, you are encouraged to purchase tickets through the AMA website. If you'd like to visit AIMExpo, you are welcome to purchase tickets for the public days on Saturday and Sunday.

Workshops to be offered include:
11 a.m. - Noon  
MyLaps Trackside Instruction Workshop (Basic) 
This workshop is for AMA organizers interested in getting started with MyLaps Trackside software. Trackside creator John Dains will teach the basic functionality of the MyLaps Trackside Software. 

Noon - 1:30 p.m. 
MyLaps Trackside Instruction Workshop (Advanced) 
Trackside creator John Dains will teach more advanced functions of the MyLaps Trackside Software and MyLaps transponders. 

2 - 3 p.m. 
Racing Insurance Workshop 
Open forum on racing insurance matters relating to risk management, releases and general insurance questions. The workshop is led by a representative from our AMA Preferred Insurance Program. 

3 - 4 p.m. 
Recreational Insurance Workshop 
Open forum on recreational event insurance matters relating to risk management, releases and general insurance questions. The workshop is led by a representative from our AMA Preferred Insurance Program. 

3 - 4 p.m. 
Brett Downey Safety Foundation Flagger/Safety Seminar 
Seminar to discuss flag marshals and best practices when promoting safety at racing events. The seminar is led by Ricky Rickords, National Motocross Safety Ambassador for the Brett Downey Safety Foundation and AMA Supercross Safety Coordinator. 

4 - 5 p.m. 
Roundtable Discussion on the AMA Ambulance Requirement 
This roundtable discussion will review and discuss the current ambulance requirement at racing events. 

5 - 5:30 p.m. 
AMA Racing Amateur Activity Demographics Report 
Presentation by AMA staff detailing demographics and participation within AMA racing events. 

4 - 5 p.m. 
Politics Affecting Racing, On-Highway and Off-Highway Issues
Led by the AMA Government Relations staff, a brief overview of issues that are happening within the motorcycle industry and how you can be involved.
