Biltwell parts and accessories company returns to AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days

Sponsorship includes pit bike races, holeshot challenge and off-road poker run

PICKERINGTON, Ohio — Biltwell Inc., a Temecula, Calif.-based motorcycle parts and accessories company, will bring a product display to 2019 Honda AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days presented by Avon Tyres, and will sponsor three competition events at the July 5-7 event.

The Biltwell Pit Bike Races are scheduled for July 5-6, while the Biltwelll Holeshot Challenge is July 6 and the Biltwell Off-Road Poker Run will be July 5, 6 and 7.

"Biltwell's approach is 'Ride Motorcycles, Have Fun!' and we believe that fits right in with the atmosphere at AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days," said Biltwell's Mike 'Otto' Deutsch.

Registration for Biltwell Pit Bike Racing is from 3-5 p.m. on July 5 and July 6, with a 5:30 p.m. practice and a 6 p.m. start time. Classes include 50cc and under, 70cc to 110cc four strokes and 112cc to 125cc four strokes. Friday races are in the infield. Saturday races are at the motocross track.

The Biltwell Holeshot Challenge gives riders a chance to test their motocross holeshot skills in a "run what you brung" exhibition race. Registration is 5-7 p.m. July 6, with competition starting at 7 p.m.

The Biltwell Off-Road Poker Run is offered on July 5, 6 and 7. Riders navigate an easy off-road loop five times, drawing a card on each lap. At the end of each day, the top three poker hands will be awarded prizes. A $5 donation to the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame is requested to participate.

Honda AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days presented by Avon Tyres will not only celebrate the 50th anniversary of Honda's legendary 1969 CB750, but also the 40th anniversary of the six-cylinder CBX and the 60th anniversary of American Honda Motor Co. Inc.

Three-time AMA Grand National Champion and AMA Superbike Champion Bubba Shobert will be Grand Marshal of the event. Shobert is a longtime factory Honda rider and one of the winningest racers in professional motorcycle competition.

Honda AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days presented by Avon Tyres, welcomes riders and racers of all brands to Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. All activity at the event financially supports the American Motorcycle Heritage Foundation, the 501(c)(3) nonprofit that raises money for the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame.

The event will include vintage competition in road racing, motocross, hare scrambles and trials at Mid-Ohio and flat track racing at the nearby Ashland County Fairgrounds. Riders in these disciplines are racing for national championships or national championship series points. In addition, the Biltwell Pit Bike Races, the Biltwell Holeshot Challenge and the Biltwell Off-Road Poker Run will also be held.

Vendors from all areas of motorcycling will be present, selling gear and services for motorcycles old and new. Vendors include vintage and modern gear sellers, parts and tools dealers, community garages and much more.

Motorcycling experts will speak on numerous topics, including motorcycle restoration and travel. Speakers this year include three AMA Motorcycle Hall of Famers — Scot Harden, Mary McGee and Peter Starr. And AMA staff members will conduct a panel discussion on important legislation affecting riders.

Tickets are available for purchase online at www.midohio.com/tickets/1/vintage-motorcycle-days-ama or at the gate during the event. A weekend pass is $60, a single-day admission for Friday or Saturday is $40 and a single-day admission for Sunday is $35. Kids 12 and younger get in free.
