1979 Honda Mugen ME 360 wins Grand Marshal's Choice Award

LEXINGTON, Ohio — Rob Wilhelm's Honda Mugen took the Grand Marshal's Choice Award at the 2019 AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame Bike Show, presented by Old Bike Barn, on Saturday at 2019 Honda AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days presented by Avon Tyres at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course.

The selection was made by Hall of Famer Bubba Shobert, who is co-grand marshal of AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days with fellow Hall of Famer Scott Summers.

Wilhelm, who also won the Grand Marshal's Award in 2017 with a different bike, said he held nothing bike for the 1979 Honda Mugen ME 360.

"All I can tell you about this bike is that just about everything you can put on it is on it," he said.

  • American Best of Show: 1956 Harley-Davidson FL, Bill France
  • British Best of Show: Triumph TR6SC Trophy, Graham Cousens
  • European Best of Show: 1972 Husqvarna 360 Cross, August Lehman
  • Japanese Best of Show: 1979 Honda CBX, Michael Krawczonek
