American Motorcyclist Association honors those who served in the U.S. military

Veterans Day offers opportunity to reflect

AMA Press Release

PICKERINGTON, Ohio -- The American Motorcyclist Association offers its sincere gratitude and respect this Veterans Day, Nov. 11, to all U.S. veterans who have served this nation through times of strife and times of peace.

The AMA proudly counts thousands of veterans among its members, and many veterans' groups are also AMA-sanctioned clubs.

"Veterans have always been a part of the motorcycle lifestyle, and we are glad they are a part of the AMA. They bring strong values and a sense of brotherhood and sisterhood to the motorcycling community," said AMA President and CEO Rob Dingman. "We are grateful for the willingness of those in our armed services to defend our country and the American way of life. We at the AMA extend our heartfelt thanks to those who served and to their families, who supported them during their service."

Veterans Day is a federal holiday, observed this year on Nov. 10. The AMA urges all motorists to be alert this weekend to motorcyclists, many of whom will be on the road to visit family and friends and participate in rides. The AMA also urges motorcyclists to stay alert, ride safely and ride sober.

One way the AMA demonstrates its commitment to veterans and its respect for their selfless service is by offering the military affinity membership card. Those joining the AMA or renewing their memberships may select the military affinity card online at www.americanmotorcyclist.com/membership/join.
