Become an AMA-Chartered Club Share
Your club can charter with the AMA/ATVA different ways:
Social Club
For enthusiasts who ride together, be it road or off-road, but aren't really structured or geared up to host formal events.
- At least five current AMA/ATVA members must be listed on the application.
- These clubs cannot vote for Congress Delegates or host sanctioned events.
- The charter fee is $35 for a calendar year.
Historic Club
These are clubs who believe in the AMA but do not have the membership anymore and are not active enough to maintain a promoting charter.
- The club must be in existence for 50 years or more (as verified by the AMA).
- At least five current AMA/ATVA members must be listed on the application.
- These clubs cannot vote for Congress Delegates or host sanctioned events.
- The charter fee is $35 for a calendar year.
Service Charter-Non Promoting
Service charter is available for organizations that specifically fall under Motorcyclists' Rights, Military, Police, Fire or Charity. They provide a Service to the Motorcycle community and others through their organization.
- At least five current AMA/ATVA members must be listed on the application.
- These clubs cannot vote for Congress Delegates or host sanctioned events.
- The charter fee is $35 for a calendar year.
Online Community Charter
An online community charter is for online motorcycling forums and the like that exist solely online and don't sanction events.
- At least five current AMA/ATVA members must be listed on the application.
- These clubs cannot vote for Congress Delegates or host sanctioned events.
- The charter fee is $35 for a calendar year.
Recreational or Competition Promoting Club
Promoting Clubs can sanction events and vote for AMA Congress Delegates. They must attend an AMA Risk Management Workshop before holding AMA sanctions.
- All club officers must be current AMA/ATVA members.
- Including officers, club must have at least ten current AMA/ATVA members.
- Two letters of recommendation, printed on company letterhead, and a copy of club Constitution and By-Laws are required to be submitted by first year applicants or clubs that have not renewed their AMA charter for two or more years.
- The charter fee is $75 per calendar year.
Service Charter-Promoting
Service Charter-Promoting can sanction events and vote for AMA Congress Delegates. They must attend an AMA Risk Management Workshop before holding AMA sanctions. Service charter is available for organizations that specifically fall under Motorcyclists' Rights, Military, Police, Fire or Charity. They provide a
Service to the Motorcycle community and others through their
organization.
- All club officers must be current AMA/ATVA members.
