Become an AMA-Chartered Club Share
Your club can charter with the AMA/ATVA different ways:
Social Club
For enthusiasts who ride together, be it road or off-road, but aren't really structured or geared up to host formal events.
- At least five current AMA/ATVA members must be listed on the application.
- These clubs cannot vote for Congress Delegates or host sanctioned events.
- The charter fee is $35 for a calendar year.
Historic Club
These are clubs who believe in the AMA but do not have the membership anymore and are not active enough to maintain a promoting charter.
- The club must be in existence for 50 years or more (as verified by the AMA).
- At least five current AMA/ATVA members must be listed on the application.
- These clubs cannot vote for Congress Delegates or host sanctioned events.
- The charter fee is $35 for a calendar year.
Recreational or Competition Promoting Club
Promoting Clubs can sanction events and vote for AMA Congress Delegates. They must attend an AMA Risk Management Workshop before holding AMA sanctions.
- All club officers must be current AMA/ATVA members.
- Including officers, club must have at least ten current AMA/ATVA members.
- Two letters of recommendation, printed on company letterhead, and a copy of club Constitution and By-Laws are required to be submitted by first year applicants or clubs that have not renewed their AMA charter for two or more years.
- The charter fee is $75 per calendar year.
